Jackson B. Reynolds III has been a partner with Smith and Hale LLC for the past nine years and with the firm for a total of 16 years. Jack works primarily in the areas of zoning, annexation, land use and other real estate and governmental matters. During Jack's tenure he has practiced in Franklin County and all the counties surrounding Franklin County dealing with all forms of governmental and civic bodies which has allowed him to establish contacts with those entities and thereby develop an expertise with the various codes and regulations and has established relationships with the various boards and individual members that has helped to successfully conclude cases for his clients. Jack's experience has allowed him to practice before a variety of county common pleas courts, environmental courts and the court of appeals in the Central Ohio area.
Jack secured his undergraduate degree from Miami University in 1980(dual majors in Political Science and Public Administration. He is a holder of a master degree in City and Regional planning from the Ohio State University (1983) and earned his law degree from Capital University in 1993. Jack's experience prior to joining Smith and Hale, is very helpful in properly representing his clients as he has worked in the Ohio House of Representatives as a staff member, then with the City of Columbus Ohio's Development Department in the Zoning Section, where he processed a variety of different zoning cases and interacted with the public planners and city administrators. His next job was as the Director of Planning and Economic Development for the City of Washington Courthouse and then to Franklin County, Ohio as the Director of Zoning and Building Departments. Given the practical experience garnered with his work experience and his 16 years as an attorney with Smith and Hale, Jack is more that capable of successfully representing clients in the Central Ohio area.
